About Me

“…But what most impressed me about Alison’s work was her diligence in keeping contact with me throughout the whole process, the speed with which she worked, and her willingness to answer questions whenever I had them. This type of personal service is indeed rare, and I would recommend Carrier Studios to anyone looking for artwork and web development services. In fact—I just hired her again for another website!” — George Scoville, blogger at The Dangerous Servant

Hi! My name’s Alison Carrier. I am graphic designer with an emphasis in front-end development, including some copy-writing skills, usability strategies, and logical marketing. I currently live in Nashville, TN, with my partner, Brian, our two dogs, and our master, Saber the cat.

Since moving to Nashville to study design at Belmont University, I’ve done three internships, freelance work, full-time contract work, and regular full-time 9-5 work. From an email marketing company to a full-service advertising agency, I have gleaned some skills that make me more than just a designer or developer – I am a full-scale thinker. I like having my hand in the beginning of a process. Getting to know a client, assessing her needs, helping convey those needs in a logo or website, and then always improving upon it. I have learned so much about creating WordPress themes and sending files off to print. But I never stop experimenting or figuring out ways to become better at what I do.

You can read more about my professional life by either checking out my resumé or visiting my LinkedIn profile.

In addition to my time spent being a designer, I also blog/vlog semi-regularly at my personal site, GeekGirlFighter. I cover a variety of topics concerning my off-hours activities, including training to be an amateur Sanda fighter and being on staff at geek conventions.

Feel free to drop me a line.
